Balloon Race Fundraiser
Unfortunately due to Covid-19 we were unable to run some of our biggest fundraising events of the year. We had lots of fun things planned, not least our Easter and Summer Fayres, discos and raffle. The school relies so heavily on these additional funds to enrich every child’s time at St Werburgh’s.
Not knowing when we will be able to meet physically again we have organised a Virtual Balloon race starting in Timbuktu, the Sahara desert, which we hope everyone will be excited to join in with.
The race starts 12pm 8th August 2020 and will run for 7 days. If you’re away then it’s no problem you can watch the launch sequence later, online and you will be contacted if you win.
You can buy a virtual balloon for just £3 here: https://ecoracing.co/user/page/520. You need to make an account so that you can be contacted if you win a prize. 78% of all money goes directly to the school.
The software designed to run the race uses live weather data to determine the progress of each balloon and each entry can be tracked on Google Maps and Satellites once launched.
You can decorate your balloon and alter your balloon’s parameters at any time to increase your chance of winning. Prizes include £500 cash and an IPad.
Each balloon costs just £3 and you can buy as many balloons as you want to increase your chances of winning. You can even buy them as gifts for other people. Every balloon really will make a difference.
If you could share this event with your family and friends, we would really appreciate it.
If we sell over 500 balloons we will be eligible for bonus prizes. Please help us achieve this!
